This painting by the Eritrean artist Abraham is a profound visual representation of my role as the Chairman of the Constitutional Commission of Eritrea. The artwork captures the pivotal period from 1993 to 1997, during which I led the Commission. This crucial era culminated on May 23, 1997, with the ratification of the Eritrean Constitution by both the Eritrean National Assembly and the Constituent Assembly.

The painting is rich in symbolism and detail, reflecting the significance of this historical moment. Accompanying the image are inscriptions and signs written in Tigrigna, the national language of Eritrea, using the traditional Ge’ez script. These elements provide a deeper insight into the context and impact of the constitutional work represented in the painting.
